Wind Energy Technology Course Approved

We've received approval under the Labour Market Activation Fund 2010 to run a one-year Level 6 Minor Award in Wind Energy Technology.

We are delighted to be able to offer a new one-year Level 6 Minor Award in Wind Energy Technology from September 2010.  Those who are interested in applying can do so by completing a Direct Entry Application Form and submitting it to the Institute by 5.00 pm on Tuesday, 24 August.

Applicants must:

1.Confirm that they have been claiming a Jobseeker’s payment for at least three months or provide a copy of Form RP50 confirming that they are entitled to statutory redundancy from their most recent employment.  Proof of such payments must be obtained from your local Social Welfare Office.
2. Candidates must be qualified electrical or mechanical crafts persons or have an electrical or mechanical engineering higher education award.  They must supply  evidence of qualifications if they wish to be considered during the selection process.
3. Applicants must hold a current driver’s licence.
4. Applicants should have the physical and health suitability for working at heights.
5. Due to the nature of the work, applicants may need to re-locate temporarily for placement and/or employment.

Applicants may be shortlisted on the basis of their application, with specific attention to qualifications and experience.

Interviews for shortlisted candidates are likely to be held on Thursday or Friday, 26 & 27 August and a working at height test on 31 August.
